New Beginnings

It is the beginning of a new year, which brings a sense of renewal, reflection and of course,   resolutions involving personal change, commitments and conquests. For years, friends have requested that my husband and I write a book about relationships — mainly because they have observed that not only are we “still” married after 30 years but we actually still “like” each other — and tend to behave a lot like infatuated newlyweds.

LuvYa.com presents the perfect forum to share the little nuggets of wisdom we have collected along our life’s path, as well as to create a community where all can share from their life experiences.

My hope is that my few little drops of water from my heart’s wellspring, will inspire a river of life’s lessons which will lead us all to a better understanding of the vast ocean we call “life.”

I’m so excited that you finally started this forum – a place we can all share life experiences and learn from one another on this journey. Plus, what a great name . . . luvya.com.

There’s so much talk about lack of civility in our society, but who ever considers, let alone talks about, lack of civility in the most important relationships we have? In our house, the words “please” and “thank you” are never taken for granted. Love can’t be sustained without respect, and respect is demonstrated in everyday activities. Please show your love in the small, mundane aspects of your life together – it will pay dividends. And Thank You for sharing.

Thank you Janet for your wise words. We learn when we are a toddler that “please” and “thank you” are the magic words that will get us our favorite toy or piece of candy. As adults, not only are these magic words often missing from our daily discourse, but way too often we fail to see how they breed an atmosphere of love and respect. Thanks for the reminder.
